The wonderful animals of Paignton Zoo!

Paignton Zoo is without doubt the best zoo I have ever visited! I only took my little Canon and wished I had taken my Eos. Never mind, am sure to go back one day.
This is just a small selection of the huge variety of animals we got to see including Gorillas, Baboons, Snakes, Crocodiles, Elephants, Camels and more. Make sure you visit whether you have a child or not, these animals need your support and are a sight to behold.

Old Buckenham Airshow Pictures 2009

Amazing airshow as usual. Can't tell you what the planes are as don't get that into it but I like the pretty pictures they make and the daring of the pilots is awesome.

More to follow...

My Day at Well's Beach

North Norfolk has the finest beaches and
Well's has long been a favourite.

I went on a school trip there when I was about 12 years old.

The wonderful woodland by the beach makes it particularly special.

Today the tide was out and it was the expanse of sand that inspired these shots, given the sunshine we could have been in the desert, but for the sea in the distance and

screaming gulls!

Footprints in the sand, going every which way...

A look around Norwich, a fine City!

Otherwise known as the Millenium Building, this is a Norwich landmark, a beautiful modern building which reflects the St Peter Mancroft church opposite. The Forum is a libary, houses BBC Look East, BBC Radio Norfolk, the Tourist Information Office ,Pizza Express and a gift shop. Many events get held there including comedy nights, dance classes and craft sales.

Norwich Statue

This is a statue I have often passed at the top of Prince of Wales Road and always promised myself I would photograph. It has taken over twenty years of living in Norwich to finally do it, so I hope you love the picture as much as I do.

Crazily I forgot to read the inscription. I will get back to you on details of the statue. For now, enjoy the beauty!

Just can't seem to leave trees alone

I found this tree in Ringland Norfolk, it was a foggy day as you can see and the light was getting eery. It was good to see colour in amongst the muted greys and black, the rust red of the trunk caught my eye and the ivy made this tree particularly special.

Trees in winters are fascinating, all stripped bare they make shapes that we miss when they're covered in leaves.

Sssh!

This woodcarving originates from Thailand. I love the serenity of the face and wonder what the secret is...

Ringland Churchyard, Norfolk

When I took this picture I was thinking 'oh, classic graveyard shot, ivy, misty graves, atmospheric.' Later when studying the picture it a more interesting symbolism occurred to me, one of the shoots of ivy is focussed through the centre of a gravestone and I thought about how life prevails, it shows hope, new growth and triumph.

I wanna be a Tree!

I took these pictures in the grounds of Fawsley Hall Hotel, Northamptonshire. It's a stunning place and the trees were beautiful.
